Functions & Wings

Disaster Management Wing

Preparedness, Response & Coordination - Disaster Response Force provides 24/7 rescue, emergency response, and flood management.

Vulnerable Water Logging Areas

Critical flooding and waterlogging hot spots monitored across the three major commissionerate limits. DRF teams are pre-positioned adjacent to these monitored zones with heavy machinery, high-discharge dewatering pumps, and rescue motorboats.

Monsoon Preparedness Protocol

When rain gauges record >20mm rainfall per hour, automated alarms alert the local DRF subcommanders. Portable high-capacity suction pumps are dispatched to monitored checkpoints within 10 minutes to maintain active traffic flows.

Roles & Responsibilities

Plan and execute disaster preparedness and emergency response operations

Coordinate rescue and relief through HYDRAA Disaster Response Force (DRF)

Collaborate with National and State disaster management agencies

Monitor weather, rainfall and flood alerts through technical agencies

Coordinate emergency operations with Police, Local Bodies and other lying departments

Maintain disaster intelligence, risk assessment and incident databases

7

Support fire safety inspections and regulatory functions as entrusted

DRF Jurisdiction & Response Radius

The Disaster Management Wing operates across the Core Urban Region (CURE), providing preparedness, emergency response, rescue, and relief services. During disasters and other emergencies, the Wing coordinates with State and local authorities to ensure timely response and effective incident management throughout the jurisdiction.

Disaster Management Units

GHMC – Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation

Covers Shamshabad, Rajendranagar, Charminar, Golconda, Khairatabad, and Secunderabad zones.

CMC – Cyberabad Municipal Corporation

Covers Serilingampally, Kukatpally, and Quthbullapur zones.

MMC – Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation

Covers Malkajgiri, Uppal, and L.B. Nagar zones.
