Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) is a dedicated unified organization established by the Government of Telangana for disaster management and safeguarding public assets.
About HYDRAA
The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) was established by the Government of Telangana through G.O.Ms.No.99, MA&UD (GHMC.I) Department as an independent agency under the Municipal Administration & Urban Development (MA&UD) Department. Headed by the Commissioner, HYDRAA, and guided by the Governing Body chaired by the Hon'ble Chief Minister, the agency serves as the nodal institution for disaster management and the protection of Government and public assets across the Core Urban Region (CURE).
HYDRAA is a dedicated agency responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing measures for urban disaster preparedness, prevention, response, rescue, and recovery. The Agency works in close coordination with State and National authorities to ensure timely and effective disaster management and the protection of public assets.
Jurisdictional Coverage
HYDRAA's jurisdiction covers the entire CURE Region, as notified by the Government of Telangana
Municipal Corporations Covered: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC), Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation (MMC).
Administrative & Legal Authority
Functioning under the Municipal Administration & Urban Development (MA&UD) Department, HYDRAA derives authority from the GHMC Act, 1955; WALTA Act, 2002; GO Ms. No. 168; GO Ms. No. 129; and other applicable Government Orders and Regulations.
The organization is headed by a Commissioner of the rank of Secretary to Government and functions under the supervision of the Principal Secretary, MA&UD Department.
